There's something very satisfying about writing on unusual surfaces. I used a proper calligraphy pen (pointed nib) and some bleed proof white ink for these - the pebbles are very pleasing, and I thought that the bigger stones would make fantastic "name cards" for a beach themed or rustic wedding.
I also had a go at writing on stones with a Sharpie pen - as you'd expect, the pen write well, but it wasn't as sharp as the ink (and of course couldn't be in white).
The middle photo made me think I'd created a prehistoric version of Countdown!
