Janet Smith is a professional calligrapher with skills in design and family research.
With 15 years' experience of creating handwritten trees, she also offers her design services to create computer generated trees which are then printed using high quality materials, just as for hand written trees.

​Hand written trees
There is no better use for calligraphy than to create a picture of your family, reflecting the work that has gone into researching your family links. A calligraphic tree is written for you in the lettering style and colours you've chosen, perhaps with a decorative element or two as well. As a craftsperson, Janet is delighted to create a tree by hand - bringing her years of calligraphy skills to create a unique family heirloom.

Printed trees
Using the same design skills as for a handwritten tree, Janet works with the content of the family tree to create a layout which reflects the unique requirements of each family tree. This is not done using standard templates, because in her experience it is rare that a family tree is a "standard" shape.(If you look at the gallery you'll see that too.) 
​Colours, fonts, images and decoration are all easily altered as the tree is created.
This is the perfect solution if photos are to be included, if multiple copies are wanted, or if changes are likely in the future.
The final piece is produced by a fine art printer, to the same standards as an art print you would buy from an art gallery.
